In Before I Self Destruct the producers use this downward camera angle to show the full view and height of the staircase both the victim and Curtis Jackson (Clarence) are running up. Due to the victim not knowing that Clarence is running after him gives a sense of disillusion and adrenaline towards the victim. However the audience can depict form this scene that Clarence is eventually going to kill the victim as we can see him gaining on him.
